Mike Witt is a former professional baseball player who played as a pitcher in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the California Angels and New York Yankees. He was born on July 20, 1960, in Fullerton, California.

Witt made his MLB debut with the California Angels in 1981 and played with the team until 1990. He was known for his powerful fastball and was named an All-Star in 1986. Witt also pitched a perfect game on September 30, 1984, against the Texas Rangers, becoming the 11th pitcher in MLB history to accomplish this feat.

In 1991, Witt was traded to the New York Yankees, where he played for two seasons before retiring from professional baseball in 1993. Over his career, he compiled a record of 117-116 with an earned run average (ERA) of 3.83 and 1,370 strikeouts.

After retiring from playing, Witt has worked as a baseball coach and scout, as well as in broadcasting. He remains active in the baseball community and is well-respected for his contributions to the sport.
